Commerce in Motion This is a great example of fun project ideated by the client and achieved on a tight schedule. Commerce in Motion came to us wanting to do a fun app that they could have in their tradeshow booth as they toured their service: a national distribution network. They pitched us the Angry Birds concept and we were game to give it a shot. Sample from the flow document
A Blog from Start to Finish Prophet contacted me about a blog they wanted to run. They wanted a multi-author blog with all of the modern bells and whistles on which they would write about the brand and identity world. They needed someone who could help them work out the UX-UI, visual layer, and build the site. Wordpress was identified as our platform and I've got to say Wordpress consistently amazes me. This open source platform runs smoothly, is easy to configure and customize and delivers a solid experience for the end user.
Here is a quick single page template I built for the organization FFTF. The idea was to make something they could quickly re-use for online petitions.
I always love working with CivicActions. This was a quick project that we used in a pitch for a project. We wanted a simple way to explain our design process and thought a graphic could help drive the idea home. I'd done some work for CivicActions in this style before so we went with it again to help build our identity.
Conference Themes This is the second year I've designed the visuals for the Interaction Conference App. I enjoy designing conference themes because they vary from year to year, keeping the visuals fresh and interesting. There is usually a good deal of typesetting and layout to consider which also makes the process rewarding.
Working With a Good Organization San Francisco's South East Food Access (SEFA) is a great organization that serves the BAYVIEW Hunters-Point districts of S.F. Their mission is "to ensure that healthy, fresh, sustainable, and affordable food is accessible to all residents of Bayview Hunters Point." They run food awareness, gardening, distribution programs getting local residents involved in bettering their food supply. Pretty cool.
Here is a quick product page I made for the upcoming game Rigonauts. I did some UI work in-game as well and the developers asked me if I could help them out with some of their marketing materials. This was a fun project that I designed and coded in a day and a half. I used share-this and lightbox to handle everything outside of straight HTML+CSS.
Started a game of 'shop tennis with Garganchuan. Above is his serve and my reply. I'll keep the game going in this article.
Android, iOS, Windows Phone, RIM, Windows 7, OSX, Linux. One of the most exciting things to happen online over the past couple of years is the fragmentation of the consumer-use OS market. With the proliferation of smart-phones and tablets we now have many platforms we need to consider when presenting a digital strategy. Growth in the mobile OS market for 2011 was huge but techradar reports that the mobile market growth will slow in 2012. Still, Ericsson is predicting that by 2015 half or more of web traffic will be on mobile devices.
It's always a pleasure to work with CivicActions, and it's nice to do a quick print project now and again. Here is a trade-show giveaway I designed for a conference CivicActions was going to. The were trying to get more mobile work, so I made this little papercut you could play with on the backside.
Here is some stuff I did for the people.com group. There is a main design, some wireframes, and a few cutting-room-floor alternate designs at the end of the slide.
I created these .psd's to mockup website designs. Often It's helpful to see the site as it looks on different devices, on different display resolutions and with all the browser crome on screen. This can help resolve unforeseen layout problems and helps to visualize fluid layouts. I've included three .psd's in this post. 1920x180 LED monitor with Windows 7 and IE 8. 1920x1080_LED.psd
What a pleasure to work with a passionate bunch of individuals. It's Volunteer Alliance (VA) I'm talking about, poised to launch their site and spread volunteer bravado across the globe. It's projects like this that re-install my vigor for the internet and its capabilities for good.
Civicactions and the Interaction form aligned to create an iPhone app for Interactions 2011 conference. It's always a great pleasure to work with Civicactions as everyone there has super internet savvy and have their strategies properly aligned. This iPhone/Android app is for a conference which connects organizations interested in social change. Naturally I was stoked to do my best.
At Prophet we aligned with Snapfish to reinvent their brand strategy and the major touchpoint for Snapfish is the UX in their web application. They are currently stuck with an outdated framework for their website and before we rebuild it they wanted us to prepare some quick wins for them with their existing code.
At Prophet we aligned with Snapfish to reinvent their brand strategy and the major touchpoint for Snapfish is the UX in their web application. They aren't ready to reinvent their website yet (though we are working on it) so I thought we could get a great fresh start with a tablet application.
sparked.com is a neet-o service that pings me from time to time asking for volunteer design work. to use their vocab, it's online microvolunteering. today i did a quick logo for a solar energy company called re-volve. i'm going to take more of these on, as simple stretch kind of exercises. get my mind off what i'm currently doing and try and make something nice in a short amount of time.
I am thrilled to be doing work with a great organization like CivicActions. My first assignment was to explore potential new identities for them while laying out the first in a continuing series of quick-start guides. This guide is for every non-profit organization interested in improving their organization with the Agile/Scrum scrum method. Interested? Download the whole guide from CivicActions.
CompostModern 2011 Site Wordpress, CSS, and Cardboard. Being on the committee for compostmodern 2011 was challenging, rewarding and fun. I originally was brought on as a marketer but as planning got underway it was clear that someone was needed to develop the conference website. That was a better fit for my core strengths and I was passionate about helping out with the conference website.
